King Runeard is the sixth main antagonist of a Walt Disney Animation Studios film to fall to their death after the Wicked Queen in Biancaneve e i sette nani (1937), Professor Ratigan in Basil l'investigatopo (1986), Percival C. McLeach in Bianca e Bernie nella terra dei canguri (1990), Gaston in La bella e la bestia (1991), and Claude Frollo in Il gobbo di Notre Dame (1996). Queen Narissa from Come d'incanto (2007) doesn't count, as her death occurs in the real-world portion of the movie and the film is not from Walt Disney Animation Studios; Mother Gothel from Rapunzel: L'intreccio della torre (2010) actually dies from extremely rapid aging which just so happens while she is falling down; and the death of Charles Muntz from Up (2009) occurs in a Pixar movie, not the animated canon. Bill Sykes from Oliver & Company (1988) could be considered a seventh character to fall to his death, but it is likely that he was already dead from the train collusion that sends his body off the Brooklyn Bridge and into the East River.
