Just before the final brawl, Birnbaum says to G.W., "Now, I'm a peaceable man, but...". This is the same catchphrase used by Wild Bill Elliott in the Red Ryder series of westerns in the 1940's and '50's. It was usually followed by Elliott knocking out the bad guy.
