During the first scene at the bar, Hangman plays a song on the jukebox by pressing "8" and "6". This is a reference to the year the original film was released (1986). In addition, Maverick is "eighty-sixed" (USA bar slang for bodily thrown out) from the bar soon afterward for having his credit card declined.
