Josh Friedman was asked about what was going to happen in Series 3 which he refused to answer. Thomas Dekker had leaked some details and revealed that in Series 3 we meet an elderly Sarah Connor running around the wasteland. Danny Dyson would return in a larger role and that there was to be a love triangle between John, Cameron and Allison Young (The human resistance fighter who was the model for Cameron). Fans speculated the plot detail about an elderly Sarah Connor in the wasteland could had influenced the writing of Terminator - Destino oscuro (2019) which Linda Hamilton returned as a elderly Sarah Connor.
