When Leslie Zevo (Robin Williams) decides to use the original Zevo toys as his "army", initially it seems ridiculous to use innocent weaponless toys on lethal weapons, but this is actually a clever tactic. It appeared that there were enough toys in there to cause the tanks and weapons to essentially waste their ammo on shooting the toys, so the humans can eventually escape or at least get past them when they are all out of ammo.
