The series has been banned from television in Hungary and the Czech Republic, two countries that share the same Disney Channel programming. Dubs for both languages were produced and a release date was announced for January 2021, but Disney Channel canceled the premiere and refused to discuss the series, even avoiding answering viewer questions. The cause for the ban was the series' LGBTQ+ content, since Disney Channel in these countries has also censored scenes featuring gay characters from their other shows, but this is the first time that an entire series was removed from their schedule. In June 2021, Hungary also passed a law that associates depiction of LGBTQ+ ideas in children's media as a form of pedophilia, which means the show cannot be legally shown to those under the age of 18. Media outlets also fiercely attacked the series and its creators and Hungarian news programs (most of which are owned by the state) even ran a report that American cartoons have become gay propaganda. In January of 2022, the banned Czech and Hungarian dubs were finally released on the Disney+ media service's western platforms. Disney+ launched officially in Hungary and the Czech Republic on June 14, making this the dubs' official release in their respective countries. The dubs were not censored to remove or hide the characters' sexuality, unlike many other Disney series.
