In this film, the Enterprise-A has numbered decks; however in Star Trek III - Alla ricerca di Spock (1984), they are letters (Deck A is the bridge; Deck B; Deck C, etc.) which can easily be verified by watching the film when the Klingons enter the bridge from the turbolift you can see "A" for Deck A.NB: In Enterprise (2001), they all have their decks by letters because they aren't very large. Only in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), do you have numbered decks because there are more than 26 decks. The Enterprise-D has 42 decks while the Enterprise-E has 30 decks (26 usable).
