Stuart Milligan is credited simply as POTUS and the president's name is never spoken in the film, but the real President in 1984 was Ronald Reagan. The character bears a passing resemblance to Reagan, but does not employ any of Reagan's trademark catchphrases or mannerisms. Milligan previously played presidential character Richard Nixon in Doctor Who (2005).
