As with Carrie - Lo sguardo di Satana (1976) there's a put upon outcast type heroine who is terrorized by villains for the bulk of the story, there's an antagonistic wicked stepmother type character who punishes the heroine, the heroine dies and hell is referenced. And the names of the protagonists are very similar. They're both "C" names with a color as the last name: Carrie White and Christine Brown.
