The only time the subject of Columbo's first name is brought up by anyone is in the Season 4 episode Colombo: Alle prime luci dell'alba (1974) when Colonel Lyle C. Rumford (Patrick McGoohan) asks him if he has a first name. Columbo responds "I do, but usually only my wife uses it."
