During the original 'Top Gun' (1986) volleyball scene, "Slider" (Rick Rossovich) lets out an excited howl just after "Maverick" (Tom Cruise) dives into the sand. The same howl can be overhead in the background of the football scene in 'Top Gun: Maverick' (2022) just before "Hondo" (Bashir Salahuddin) jumps into the game.
