Mike Curb, who wrote the lyrics to this movie's theme song, "Burning Bridges", served as Lieutenant Governor of California between 1978 and 1982. The Music School at California State University, Northridge (named San Fernando Valley State College when he attended), is named after Curb, who is a university alum.
