Writers Zak Penn and Simon Kinberg had originally written a larger role for Rogue in this film, but actress Anna Paquin was only available to film for a limited time due to also filming the 2005 film 'The Squid and the Whale'. As a result, scenes with Rogue were either cut or re-written, such as having Wolverine infiltrate Magneto's group to find Jean Grey instead of Rogue.
