Optimus Prime's original alternate mode in "Transformers (1984)" was a cabover truck, but this was revised to a bull-nosed Peterbilt truck. This was because test designs showed a cabover could only disguise a twenty-foot robot, and so the larger Peterbilt truck was chosen to make Prime taller (at thirty-two feet tall). The truck was also colored blue with red flames (like Rodimus Prime, Optimus' successor), to give Prime a distinct look.
