In the comics, Steels fight against Eradicator took place in Metropolis but later after Eradicator tries to kill Steel by taking him up towards space, they both landed in Coast City after Steel escaped where their fight concluded. In the film it took place in the Fortress of Solitude. Also another major difference is that while the real Superman is able to come out of the rejuvenation tank to help Steel, in the comics Steel ended the fight by breaking the Eradicators sunglasses (as he is more sensitive to bright lights), as the real Superman was not revealed to be alive at that point in the original storyline.
