There are many little give aways that either the writers or actors aren't from or familiar with Chicago. For example, in one episode Carl refers to the street Melvina, but mispronounces it as "Mel-vee-na". Any Chicagoan, let alone a cop, would know it's "Melv-eye-na". There's even a dirty joke involving that street name and two others. I give them credit for including real streets, but at least pronounce them correctly.
