Music has always been an important element in Taylor Hackford's movies, and superstars Lionel Richie and Phil Collins each contributed their talents to this movie. "Say You, Say Me" was written, co-produced, and sung by Richie. Collins dueted with Marilyn Martin on "Separate Lives", which is the love theme from this movie, and was written by Stephen Bishop.
