In the scene where the New York gang members are calling out Terry Malloy to come out because Charlie wants to see him (and Charlie's been killed) is reminiscent of the scene in Il padrino (1972) where the Mafia gang members are calling out to Vito Corleone when he's hiding in Sicily after they killed his mother.
