Soldiers Mullroy (Angus Barnett) and Murtogg (Giles New) make a return after appearing in La maledizione della prima luna (2003) but not Pirati dei Caraibi - La maledizione del forziere fantasma (2006). In both movies, they are guarding something important (the Interceptor in Curse of the Black Pearl, the chest with Davy Jones's heart in At World's End), and Jack Sparrow tricks them in the same way: he asks them why they are there instead of somewhere else, and the answer causes them to get into a trivial discussion. This distracts them to the extent that they no longer pay attention to Jack, who subsequently slips by unnoticed.
