The film was given little fanfare upon release, thanks to a management chance at Embassy Pictures. The new chairmen at the time, Norman Lear and Jerry Perenchio, hated the previous regimes films and spent little on their release. Ironically, the films' made under Lear and Perenchio were all box-office duds.
