As Boss and Artinelli are in their dressing room after Boss learns of his wife's affair with Artinelli, and is considering killing him during their act, a drawing of a Commedia dell'arte-style clown is visible on the wall behind them, reminiscent of the opera "Pagliacci", in which the main character is a clown who kills his wife and her lover during a performance.
