Although Mark Felt's identity as Deep Throat was successfully kept secret until he revealed it in 2005, he was one of those suspected of being Deep Throat, with those who publicly suspected him including Richard Nixon and H.R. "Bob" Haldeman, Nixon's White House chief of staff.
