In the first cut of the film, the death scene of Connor was more gruesome, showing his death between the millstones more extensively. The Cut was given a FSK 18 rating. Producer Horst Wendlandt heavily wanted a FSK 12 Rating for commercial reasons and demanded the scene to be cut out almost entirely. For the 2004 DVD Release by Universum Film, the complete scene was re-included. The Films original version was given a new FSK 16 rating then.
