"Tim described Negasonic Teenage Warhead to me as a fuel air bomb," says Jonathan Rothbart. "They're these bombs where they launch them and explode but only ignite when the fuel spreads out. So you get this massive combustion moment but spread out into this huge large area. But we also needed something to show the genesis of the effect, so DD came up with something that looks like the solar flares of the sun."
