Jennifer Love Hewitt was offered the part of Robin Scherbatsky before the casting of Cobie Smulders. However, Hewitt turned it down due to filming commitments to Ghost Whisperer. Gillian Jacobs, Riki Lindhome and Kaitlin Olson auditioned for Robin Scherbatsky as well.
