Estes Kefauver was paid $2,000 plus 2% of the film's profits for his endorsement, which he gave to charity (The Cordell Hull Foundation for World Peace). He was also running for the 1952 Democrat party nomination for President, and thought this film would raise his profile with the public. He would lose to Adlai Stevenson.
