Due to this film being set in the same school as Una pazza giornata di vacanza (1986) and taking place in 1984 this film quite possibly takes place a year before the events of the latter film. And it is likely Richard Vernon is deputy to Ed Rooney and the teenagers are very familiar with Ferris himself despite the fact Una pazza giornata di vacanza (1986) was not made until after this film.
