The movie playing on the television in Thomas' bedroom as he's mimicking the Kung Fu moves is Jing wu ying xiong (1994) with action choreography by Woo-Ping Yuen. Fist of Legend inspired the Wachowskis to hire him for the fight scenes in The Matrix.
