The song "Bali Ha'i" by Juanita Hall from the movie South Pacific, was inspiration for many artiste's for years to come. Some have even debated that the opening melody of Bali Ha'i bears a resemblance to the "bride motif" in Franz Waxman's musical score for the 1935 film Bride of Frankenstein. In 1970, 2 songs used Bali Hai as inspiration. The first was"Immigrant Song" by Led Zeplin. The second song was Lucifer's Friend "Ride in the Sky". The third song was Abba song "So Long" at 2:44. Back in India many music director's followed the same source inspiration. The first noticeable one was the title music for Teesra Kaun (1965). The title music had similarities with the long horn/trumpet tune which was sampled from the "Bali Hai". The Teesra Kaun title music would go on to be featured in CID 909 (When Feroz Khan sits in a taxi),Anjaam (1968) and Anjaan Hai Koyee. Jatin Lalit used the same signature tune for the song "Zara Sa Jhoom Loon Main" from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. The part inspired was when Asha Bhosle says "Main Chaleeeeee", then a 1 second pause and continues with the word "Chalee". Years later Anu Malik/Ranjit Barot sampled "Bali Hai" and "Immigrant Song". It was at the part at 1:40 and 5:01 from the song "Aaja Gufaon Mein Aa" from Aks.The "Phone Bhoot Theme" from Phone Bhoot also has traces of the same Led Zeplin tune. Thor Ragnorak's Theme song also sampled Led Zeplin' s classic tune. Traces of the horn sound used in the Aks song were heard in the song "Raftaarein" from the movie Ra One. Other people who sampled the same intro sound/vocal of the Led Zeplin song were Bleep by Sandy Vee (2008), Puss N Boots by Kon Kan, Scream by Wh0 (2018), To Hell and Back by Benga (2012),You Should Be Dancing by Dread Zeppelin (1992),Togi by Dzeko & Torres and Crossways (2013),Since Ur Barracuda Has Been an Immigrant by Rock Sugar (2011), Pro's and Con's by No Remorze (1995), Rock On! by Cutmaster-G (1988),Body Rock by Hazzaro (2013),We Rock the Mic by Soul Survivors (Hip Hop) (1996),Don't Make Me Over by Francis M. (1990),Make It Happen by Most Wanted Posse (1993),Immigrant Song / Pay to Cum by Whiskey Daredevils (2007),Colère by Benny B feat. DJ Daddy K (1990),The True Story of House Music by L.B. Bad (1989). "Bali Hai" also had cover versions by Henry Mancini and several others.
