This was Paramount's first production filmed in their trademarked wide-screen process, Vista-Vision (their equivalent of Cinema-Scope). Back in the days before wide-screen TVs and letterboxing were common, films like this were shown on television in a process known as pan-and-scan, with almost 40% of the original image being cut off on the left and right sides. As a result, it appeared that White Christmas was "the first movie filmed in...sta-Visi..."!
