Mary Tyler Moore's first leading role was on The Dick Van Dyke Show, which was created by Carl Reiner. Rob Reiner directed Kiefer Sutherland in Stand by Me, which was one of his first leading roles. That film took place in Castle Rock, a small town also appearing in The Dark Half with Timothy Hutton.
