The 1925 Serum Run did not impact Togo as harshly as it appeared in the movie. On the way back from Golovin, Togo and the other dogs started chasing a couple of reindeer around. Leonhard attempted to get them to calm down, but Togo and two other dogs managed to break from their line. One of the dogs comes back soon after, while Togo and the other disappeared into the woods. Leonhard did what he could to search for the dogs but eventually made his way back to Nome on February 4th. People started searching for the missing dogs, who were driven up to Seppala's kennel by the postman a week later.
