As this film was supposed to have an all star cast, the famous Egyptian actor Omar Sharif was originally attached to the film to play the manager of The Kamak but was disappointed that it was only a relatively small role when he saw a script so he pulled out. With the withdrawal of a big name like Sharif the scriptwriters subsequently decided to reduce the number of scenes and dialogue of the manager character resulting in his presence being drastically cut in a script rewrite.The part was then recast with veteran Indian actor I.S. Johar playing the part.
