Kara's origin (an evil Zor-El attempting to use her to kill Clark) was taken from a false origin featured in the "Supergirl" 2005-2011 run. In the comics, when Supergirl fights an evil version of herself, the "dark" Supergirl lies that Zor-El had actually sent Kara to Earth to kill Kal-El.
