This was Robert Stack's second comedic role; his first was only the previous year playing General Stilwell in the Spielberg comedy 1941 - Allarme a Hollywood (1979). Like Leslie Nielsen, Robert Stack re-invented himself from the hard nosed, dramatic, stone-faced characters he was customarily cast to play into a more versatile actor with a flair for deadpan humor.
