Despite being a friend, co-producer (he talked Spielberg into directing Purple), and musical director of the film, Quincy Jones became intrusive in Spielberg's work during production. And, despite the film score being nominated for an Oscar, Spielberg never worked with any other composer but John Williams for the next 30 years.
