At the end of season eight, episode four, Walker Texas Ranger: The Avenging Angel (2000), it was explained that C.D. Parker (Noble Willingham) had taken sick while on a trip and passed away. But in the series finale "Final Showdown", it was revealed that C.D. was murdered. This was intended as a way of writing him off from the series, as Noble Willingham left the show in the previous season as he was involved in a campaign to run for Congress (though he lost the election),
