When Mirabel finally sees and confronts Bruno, his skin is gray and bags under his eyes, showing that he's been hiding. At the end, after the house has its new foundation and they give Mirabel her door handle, his face has color and his eye bags are gone. This shows that he has been out of hiding and back to being a part of the family.
