In the German version of this film, Adam Sandler is not dubbed by Dietmar Wunder as usual. Instead, the German Disney subsidiary used comedian Matthias Knop to perform the dubbing. At the time, Knop was successful with his character "Super-Ritchie" (a kind of extremely dumb-minded version of Superman) and he performed the dubbing in the same manner of speech as his "Super-Ritchie" character. The film was widely panned by critics and audiences alike and the dubbing is regarded as one of the worst in history.
