Ray Stevenson and Charlie Hunnam were both approached for undisclosed roles but declined. Stevenson said that he was approached early on, but he passed on the opportunity as he was focusing on a career outside television at the time. Despite seeing many of his Roma (2005) cast mates joining the show in later seasons, he stated that he probably wouldn't, as he preferred to be in a series from the beginning. Hunnam was offered a cameo, but his busy schedule prevented him from taking it.
