The Swedish actor Björn Andrésen plays the role of the old man who jumps off the cliff. Andrésen may be familiar to viewers outside of Sweden for his role as the teenage boy Tadzio, the object of Dirk Bogarde's affection in Visconti's Morte a Venezia (1971).
