The pink-housed village was built near Moorpark, California, on a hillside just south of the 118 freeway. When it was first constructed, many local residents complained to their elected officials that such an eyesore had been allowed. They were told that it was a movie set, which would be torn down when filming was complete. It was torn down in December 2002.
