In the movie, the team has very clear and effective communications, both within the team and with their command. It is highly unlikely that triple canopy jungle as depicted would allow for effective satellite communication. Modern warfare has highlighted the need for clear and effective communications, seen by many as the key to battle. Bravo Two Zero, Blackhawk Down, Taku Ghar, Red Wings, and several other prominent battles and missions have seen communication failures, leading to serious casualties and mission failures. Modern systems are now able to take advantage of micro drones , enabling radically increased antennae elevation, a live feed battlefield/AO picture, line of sight communication and properly triangulated satellite communication.
