During a break in filming, Brian Thompson walked over to Sylvester Stallone and Director George P. Costmatos to discuss his characters' motivations as a backstory and suggested that the character would have some Polaroid pictures and personal files on the people he's killing. Stallone agreed and told Cosmatos to get him what he asked for.
