Liam Neeson, who had previously worked with director Jaume Collet-Serra on four films (Unknown - Senza identità (2011), Non-Stop (2014), Run All Night - Una notte per sopravvivere (2015) and L'uomo sul treno (2018)), was considered for the role of Kent Nelson/Doctor Fate. Oded Fehr was also being eyed for the role as well.
