The character Vicência Santos is played by Maria Fernanda Cândido, a renowned Brazilian actress. In one of her scenes the script called for something stronger due to the spell the character was performing, but Cândido suggested to director David Yates that the character, being more centered, would perform the magic more calmly and wave her wand in a circular way. Yates allowed her to film this way and liked the result so much that it went to the final cut.
