In this film contain some of Indonesia's culture and geography; After the airplane scene, Nate & Chloe drift away in the Banda Sea (located in Maluku island, eastern of Indonesia). Then--somehow--they land in an island and stay in a resort located in Manokwari, northern Papua island, Indonesia. The hotel name can be seen in the note that Nate uses to write the coordinate, reads "MANOKWARI". The Philippines and Indonesia are neighboring countries, but the distance from Manokwari to Philippines is more than 1,100 sea miles (1,200 miles / 2,000 km), so it's almost impossible to reach by Nate's small boat. Additionally, the very first gold artifact that Nate tosses to Sully in the ship when they finally meet again is shaped exactly like "Barong" head (the mythological animal from Bali, Indonesia). In the entire film, Braddock uses weapon called a "Kerambit". This traditional weapon originally came from Sumatra, Indonesia.
