The technique Toulours uses to avoid the laser security in the Galleria D'Arte in the flashback scene is very similar to the technique used by the character Gin Baker in Entrapment (1999). That character is played by Catherine Zeta Jones and has similarities to the character she plays in this movie. Both are investigators - Gin is an insurance investigator and Isabel here works for Europol. In both movies the characters start off investigating a crime that, by the end of the movie they ultimately end up involved in.
