Dimiter D. Marinov was cast for the role of Oleg only after a second chance. The first time, Marinov had been rejected due to the fact that, while being a skilled violinist, he did not play cello at all. Marinov took lessons from cello tutors for 5 days, attended a casting again, and this time was chosen for the role.
