The story "The Whispering Death" by Sir Walter Scott, adapted by Hugo Charteris, and directed by Patrick Dromgoole, was renamed "The Devil's Piper", and "Old Mrs. Jones" by Mrs. J.H.Riddell, adapted by Allan Prior, was renamed "The Beckoning Shadow" for this television adaptation.
